Guide Notes

There are many elements to be considered when assessing a web site and most award programs seek similar elements in varying degrees with the specific differences being applied according to the award program owners main areas of interest.

When we assess web sites we not only have an interest in all the areas that go into creating a web site such as coding, graphics, overall design etc but we also strive to generally view web sites from the perspective of 'middle of the road' web surfers. We try very hard indeed to leave our own personal opinions behind 'sticking to the letter' of the criteria and where personal views do enter the equation ( that one must concede can and does happen ), we then battle very hard indeed to try and view web sites as the wider general audience would view them - the wider general audience being the key ( not in an academic mode but in a wider general audience mode - as ' middle of the road ' web surfers ) and then we apply our criteria.
