- Unreadable text: This constitutes the use of text that is extremely small in size, blurred when viewing, cluttered and do not contrast in color against the web page background therefore not permitting the displayed information to be easily read. Font type and size used must be readable by impaired viewers in all screen resolutions. We will not accept text that is ApPle MiXeD in both upper and lower case or is multi colored ( M i X e D. ) Exceptions: ApPle MiXeD and multi colored text (M i X e D) will be accepted in children's pages or sections where it is conducive in enhancing the viewing experience of children.
- Use of web site personalized W3C images: W3C do not allow 'altering' of their images. This does not cover the creation of another image. What would fit there is the section on the W3C icon - and even that, only loosely. One cannot use W3C logos in a 'disparaging' manner only in the intention they were originally set up for by W3C. The graphics on the W3C buttons are copyright protected. The title 'W3C' and 'World Wide Web Consortium' are registered trademarks therefore if you create your own button the design or graphic it cannot resemble the W3C button as that would be copyright infringement. You also cannot use the text 'W3C' or 'World Wide Web Consortium' as that would violate trademark rights. W3C view modifying their images as making them larger, smaller, changing the color or the actual W3C logo itself.
- What is a 'skip intro'? A 'skip intro' is a button or a text links that permits the viewer to bypass entrance page flash displays and/or large entrance animations without the need to wait for the download to complete in order to progress further into the web site.
- What are Meta Tags? Meta Tags are information inserted into the 'head' area of your web pages. Other than the title tag information in the head area of your web pages is not seen by those viewing your pages in browsers. Instead, the meta information in this area is used to communicate information that a human visitor may not be concerned with. Meta tags, for example, can tell a browser what 'character set' to use or whether a web page has self-rated itself in terms of adult content. A valuable feature they offer the web site owner is the ability to control to some degree how their web pages are described by some search engines. They also offer the ability to prevent pages from being indexed at all. These are only a few samples of what Meta Tags can provide.
- What is Plagiarism? It is the unauthorized use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of another author and the representation of them as one's own original work. In brief, it is literary theft that occurs when a writer duplicates another writer's language or ideas and then calls the work his or her own.
