Created by a group of people dedicated to improving the lives of orphans in Kazakhstan, a struggling nation of the former Soviet Union, the Antares Foundation is home to more than 14,000 orphans. Though orphanage directors and staff do their best to care for the children, funding is scarce and even basic needs are often not met. After two years of successful collaboration with representatives in northern Kazakhstan, they became incorporated in 2004 as a non-profit agency to expand their team and their ability to provide assistance that is so desperately needed.

Gravestone Archives

•      Gravestone Archives » awarded January. This web site is now closed.

Cemeteries are a valuable source of information to those researching genealogy. Graves are a semi-permanent record that is easily accessible to anyone who visits a cemetery. At Gravestone Archives you will find hundreds of transcriptions from cemeteries that they have visited. All of their many transcriptions are kept as accurate as possible. No information has been added to the transcription, and as much of the readable information from the grave markers have been recorded into their database, with high regard to accuracy. Transcribing gravestones is an enjoyable and addicting hobby, with potential to help people with genealogy research. Your effort to record information from your local cemetery could help in preserving that information for years. ( Please note: This site is currently unavilable for viewing. )
