Guide Notes

It is important that you be totally honest about your web site as you check out the items in our 'test drive' list in order for you to come to a reasonable decision as to whether your web site may meet our requirements. Prior to using the “test drive” please ensure that you are fully cognizant of all our requirements and that you have read all the information provided carefully.

Your reaching a conclusion that your web site meets all our requirements does not guarantee any award will be issued as many factors go into our assessors final decisions but a successful 'test' will provide your web site with a higher score as well as giving you the opportunity to make any required changes prior to applying.

Test Drive Check List

Test Drive Guide: Only check a box when you can answer 'yes' to the question and at the completion of the “test drive” you should have 12 out of 21 boxes selected.

  Check the box if . . . you have respected the legal rights of others by not displaying content in your web site that can be shown to be in breach of and/or not acknowledging the copyright and/or trademarks of other persons.   Check the box if . . . your web site is free from unoriginal (mirrored) content - this including design images, entire sites, part and full pages.   Don't check the box if . . . your web site displays, promotes and/or links to violence, racism, any type of discrimination, form of pornography and/or type of sexually explicit material, abuse and/or humiliation of people and/or animals.   Check the box if . . . you are certain that your web site is fit for family viewing and child-safe, you have read our Child Safety Policy including the section 'Child Safety Policy for All Applicant Web Sites' which we require your web site to comply with and if you are the owner of a web site displaying quality art content, you have read the information at the following link Link will open in a new window. Discussion on Art content, protection of children and discrimination.   Don't check the box if . . . your web site displays, promotes and/or directly or indirectly links to warez, scams of any kind or to any accepted illegal material or practices as may be proven under United States, New Zealand and/or International law.   Don't check the box if . . . your web site displays and/or promotes hate messages and/or defamatory remarks towards other web sites, individuals and/or groups.   Check the box if . . . as a good web master you store all your web site images and content on your own server using your own bandwidth. If your web site meets any of our exceptions please inform us in the further comments section of our application form and check the box!   Check the box if . . . you have ensured that your web site content is easy to read with adequate contrast between the text color and the page background using a font size that is neither too small nor too large.   Check the box if . . . you have avoided removing your visitors personal 'surfing control' by not disabling their mouse and browser buttons and/or automatically maximizing browser windows.   Check the box if . . . you have ensured that your web site contains nothing that will cause our browsers and/or computers to crash.   Check the box if . . . you have provided an English language version of your web site for us to visit.   Do you require registration and/or passwords to view any site area and are you willing to provide this information to us? We need to have adequate knowledge of your site content to provide a fair assessment so please provide us with access. Check the box!   Don't check the box if . . . horizontal scroll bars are visible on some or perhaps all of your web pages at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 unless your pages meet the following exclusion. Exclusions - Any web site page that includes full sized wallpapers where displayed is a thumbnail image or a text link that opens a page with a reduced image which in turn provides an option to view the wallpaper at full size so as to enable viewer to right click and save the wallpaper as a desktop image as well as maps / drawings / photographs of required historical and / or informational value in keeping with the web site main subject.   Don't check the box if . . . trailing cursors are coded into any of your web site pages.   Don't check the box if . . . your web site provides forced downloads (meaning visitors are given no download choices) and/or plug-ins other than music, video and/or flash resources are required to enable visitors to view your web site.   Check the box if . . . your web site content will enable us to learn about you, your favorite subject and/or your creativity and does not merely display lists of links.   Check the box if . . . your web site has a dazzling Flash introduction and you have provided a 'skip intro' button/link option or if you do not display a Flash introduction page.   Don't check the box if . . . you have more than two (2) involuntary popup windows being displayed in your web site.   Don't check the box if . . . you have used in your web pages a script that disables the right mouse click function for anything other than our Link will open in a new window. exception to the disabling of our mouse button functions.   Check the box if . . . your web site includes an awards received page or pages within which you may proudly display awards your web site achieves.   Don't check the box if . . . we will find displayed 'coming soon' and/or 'under construction' notices in your web site.

Final Check

Have you carefully gone through all of the items? Did you finally have 13 out of 21 boxes selected? Then you are ready to view the awards you may achieve by making an application.
